2013 TBR Pile Challenge

2013 TBR Pile Challenge

Adam over at Roof Beam Reader is hosting another challenge: the 2013 TBR Pile Challenge! Please check out his post for the rules.

2013 TBR Pile Challenge

The Goal: To finally read 12 books from my “to be read” pile (within 12 months).

I generally do a good job picking up books from my TBR pile, but fair enough I still buy new books at a higher speed than that I read. By joining this challenge I hope to especially get around to books (classics, mostly) that I keep postponing for whatever reason.

[edit] I decided to change my challenge list!

My 2013 TBR Pile Challenge List:

  1. To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee
  2. The Sailor Who Fell from Grace with the Sea by Yukio Mishima
  3. Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier
  4. A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess
  5. The Adventures of Sherlock Holmens by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle
  6. Vanity Fair by William Makepeace Thackeray
  7. Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë
  8. The Discovery of Heaven by Harry Mulisch
  9. The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini
  10. Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin
  11. Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien
  12. Metamorphosis(Franz Kafka Stories 1904-1924) by Franz Kafka

Alternates:

  1. The Little Friend by Donna Tartt
  2. Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë

Removed:

  • Lord of the Flies by William Golding
  • Northern Lights by Philip Pullman

I will keep my list up-to-date HERE

  1. A Clockwork Orange! Lord of the Flies! Adventures of Sherlock Holmes! Jane Eyre! Northern Lights! So much good reading ahead of you in 2013! Vanity Fair is impressive, too (although I appreciated it much more after reading about its history than I did while reading the actual text). Looking forward to your reviews of Rebecca and The Little Friend, too – they’ve both been sitting on my shelves for a long time.

    1. Yes! Lots and lots of classics. I love classics but this is a bit daunting haha. Thanks for the heads up about Vanity Fair, I’ll check up on its history before I start reading.
