I don’t know what’s up with August. It was an odd month, both fast and a slow. Reading-wise it felt slow but somehow I still read quite a lot. In every other aspect the month flew by. The first week of August I was in China for a week for business, which was an amazing experience (and also bookish). And with the new academic year starting – despite not being a student myself – I started making all kinds of plans. All exciting plans but I also get tired just thinking about them haha.
Read in August
I finished seven books this month and am reading The Bone Clocks by David Mithcell as well. And I wrote four reviews! Hah. I’ll probably also write reviews for Otherbound and The Paying Guests sometime soon.
- The Before Now and After Then by Peter Monn
- Dreams of Gods & Monsters (Daughter of Smoke & Bone, #3) by Laini Taylor
- Weetzie Bat (Weetzie Bat, #1) by Francesca Lia Block
- Everything Changes by Samantha Hale
- Otherbound by Corinne Duyvis
- ふしぎな図書館 (The Strange Library) by Haruki Murakami
- The Paying Guests by Sarah Waters
Anyway, as for what I read… Lots of four star books! I really enjoyed Weetzie Bat, Otherbound and The Strange Library in particular, and The Paying Guests (although I finished that last one just 10 minutes ago and I still have to digest it). But the highlight was definitely finishing the Daughter of Smoke & Bone series, it was so good!
Once again a book haul of shame, so here is a link. I’m on a book buying ban starting in August, but some books from July came in and on top of that I’ve been very lucky lately and won five of these books *_* Anyway, I’m very excited about all of these books. Now if a day could just have a few extra hours in it I’d be very pleased. I don’t expect any books to arrive in September, which is just as well.
Plans for September
Near the end of the month I’ll be leaving to Canada for a three week holiday, yay (finally)! I’m quite excited and I expect to get plenty of reading done as well. Not bringing any physical books but my Kindle is coming 🙂
